Facebook recently announced they will be changing the way videos rank in the news-feed and this change will affect all business users of the popular platform.
According to their blog release “We are sharing an update on three factors that impact video ranking on Facebook: 1) loyalty and intent, 2) video and viewing durations and 3) originality.”
So, how will it work now?
• Loyalty and intent: They are adding more weight to videos people seek out and return to week after week.
• Video and viewing duration: More weight for videos that keep people engaged, especially on videos that are at least three minutes long.
• Originality: Increased limitation of distribution for unoriginal or repurposed content from other sources.
Facebook says, “these changes will benefit video distribution for Pages that create original content people want to watch and come back to.”
